I've had a few sets of Elixer's one of my acoustics, and now for the other I'd like to stick with a coated string but not sure what to go for. I do have DR's Extra Life strings on my usually Elixer acoustic, which sound fantastic, but I don't want to be missing out on something if there's a better choice.
I've heard names and promotions for other coated strings but haven't tried any. If there's no huge difference I'll probably just stick with Elixers on one and DR Extras on the other. FWIW I did notice the bottom E string on my DR set (12-54) did tend to go out of tune easily with heavier playing. Not sure if a heavier string gauge will fix this.
