COB on Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock

People who insult guitar hero for being a game, which is what it actually is, are retarded.
Plenty of "real" guitar players play guitar hero for fun. Quit trying to prove how much of a "true" guitarist you guys are.

I play Guitar Hero everynow and then...so what, you want to fight about it?

Its a game and they are meant to be played.

I find it more of a workout to play guitar hero than i do real guitar.

Real guitar requires a light touch... or at least when I play

Guitar Hero just lets you got at it and have a little fun. My hand and forearm always hurt after I play GH..way more of a work out than real guitar....I personally think it is a great tool to develope hand and finger coordination and hand & eye coordination, which are both things you must develope to become a better guitar player.

I mean getting good at the game isn't going to make you a guitar guru or anything, but it can help you to improve, or get a youngster into wanting to play the real thing...which IMO is always a great thing.

even though i said it was lame i still agree that it can be fun sometimes. i would love to play a CoB song on guitar hero. but when somebody gets more attention for playing dragonforce on guitar hero then lets say somebody playing kissing the shadows on REAL GUITAR then theres a problem in my mind.

also seems to be an easy way out for some people who dont want to take time and learn guitar also imo.

or get a youngster into wanting to play the real thing...

Until they realize the real thing is not as easy as they think after playing Guitar Hero...

I'm just dead sure every Guitar Hero playing kid have to mention about their Guitar Hero playing skills when they see a talented actual guitarist.

Grown-ups playing GH in a party is totally alrigh, I'm not a nazi! But why do kids these days do nothing else than play their PS3 at home.

If it's a game why do they call it plastic guitar and not plastic piece of shit. :yuk:

It's funny how this creates discussion and flaming.

I agree....some kids will be put off from real guitar when they realize how much harder it is than the game, but not all kids are like that.

My little cousin is a GH pro and wanted me to show him some of the songs played on real guitar. So I did, and he could tell just by looking at my hands that real guitar is harder. So he gets a guitar and is now just like I was when I was a kid. Practicing for 6-7 hours a day. Like me, he likes the challenge of learning and seeing the progress that can be made. Now all his little friends are jealous because he can play the songs for real...not just in the game.

So, some kids are up to the challenge and WILL put the time thay have into learning the real instrument.

I guess it just depends on the kid though, as most kids now-a-days are lazy pieces of shit.

^Yea. Why go out to the snow to play king of the hill with friends when one of them has a PS3 in the warmth and comfort of the home. I see no kids doing that these times. I'm an '86 born so I had a console from 4-18 year old, but the games were still relatively shit after all so you couldn't do that all day - and now you have 5 year olds getting these awesome games for their PS3. Despite Guitar Hero it's gonna be interesting to see how this new generation will take on after being told everyday the world is ending and all they do is watch CGI movies that are about people killing people like hay.

Yea, i was born in '81 and these kids now a days just seem to have it so much easier(or lazier) however you want to put it.

I mean I've always had systems, but I just liked playing outside, now parents are too afraid to let there kids out in fear of them getting kidnapped, or raped, etc., or the kid would just rather sit in his room on facebook or playing his xbox. I just don't get it.

I guess we just come from a different era.

NESRetku is the best finnish dude on YouTube. Period. It's been a while since Daydreamin' Davey vid and there are bunch of idiots on his IRC channel who are always asking about the next episode. It's fucking annoying.

I don't know what the average age of GH users is but I'd suppose a heaviness-based track like IYWP would more likely catch kids' attention than a FTR track which doesn't have the emphasis on heaviness aspect but mainly music and solos.

If it comes to the heaviness, I would choose In Your Face or Sixpounder rather than IYWPPFW. I personally think that SW-HCDR (with the exception of Sixpounder) era CoB wouldn't fit to GH when compared to other songs the game has. IYWPPFW is still going to be a challenger to Through The Fire And Flames as the hardest song on GH, especially if they do as they did with DWEDFN (I mean that you have to play the keyboard solo with the guitar controller).

now i fell like i have to confess that i got into metal through GH :(

exactly like ur cousin! i was like goddamned those guys look so cool and asked mom to buy me a guitar, she didnt wanna buy an electric so i got a classical and studied in local conservatory but at home i only practised GH songs that i found tablatures of on the net, then i quit conservatory n finally bought an electric what a happy day haha

your an idiot dude GH is a waste of time and teaches you nothing real guitar requires much patience and practice anybody can play fast and sloppy which is what GH teaches
