Coil - extended version with different ending

Well since Michaels vocals along with axes girlfreinds are exactly the same way as they were layed down in the previous verses..I guess someone has been clever enough to overlap them :)
Sounds cool though... maybe they should have done that in the studio version?

I can see why they cut it. It does sound a bit odd, though this isn't one of my favourite Opeth songs anyway, I think it's right down there with The Grand Conjuration. It was interesting none the less.

When listening to Watershed, I tie in Coil, as if an intro to Heir Apparent, almost sounds like it's one song anyway.

Why do people always do these things were they mess with the songs?

Anyway, I think it would have been a cheesy and pointless thing for them to do, which is why they didn't.

It's almost like Mike made a second voice to the melody, but had Natalie sing it by herself instead. It's what most people would expect from a song like this, and not putting them together made this song very good, in my opinion.

I can always sing the second voice myself if I want to hear it. :)

Yes it is just mixed, I once thought about doing it too. Useless now. It shows that it's just fine without the two vocals at once. Seriously, that just doesn't fit. The vocals aren't made to be together in the way they are sung.

EDIT : Still, I believe Opeth should not include feminine vocals.

I love "Coil"...can't get it out of my head...this version just isn't right...as stated previously, Mike kept the vocals separate for a reason, it just sounds sadder and more in tune with the sentiments of the song.
