Yes I'm still in sunny california working with Megadeth.

We tracked gtrs and Vocals at rehearsal space on Exodus.

I think it as just something like a 5 second decay and alot more of it in dverb.

Actually not much, I just do my thing, then I'll listen to a few mixes I've done of other stuff just for comparison. I rememeber when I was working with Colin he'd be a b ing all the time and it can drive you nuts.

Thats a good question actually. I've never filtered but I did have to use a de esser on a DI because I was getting a horrible scratchy 3k and it just kept it under control. I tried something interesting the otherday to, I took the digi eleven plugin with no speaker selected and sent it into the power amp of a 5150 and into a cab, amazing how close it sounded to a 5150.

In your opinion, which was your last big step to become the engineer you are???
Do you use sidechain compression??? Where?

Well I do miss the hiss, lack of top end and an hr every morning lining the machine up...oh and waiting for it to rewind.

Last big step.... I'm still trying to go up the ladder, even tho I've done some popular bands I still want to do bigger records, especially in US. Its a difficult market to get into.

If you mean like the kick ducking the bass etc, then no. I've mentioned in the past ducking the overheads off the snare but thats only in drastic cases.

How do you deal with cold, flu, ear infections and such when you're in rush?

Yeah its a major pain in the ass that one. I got sick in January when I was last over here and ended up with a really bad chest infection. I usually have to grit my teeth and work through it, its not nice at all. Theres only been a couple of times I've had to call the label and say sorry, I can't hear anything you are going to have to give me a week off. They've always understood.

my question is somehow different cause it has notthing to do with ratios, frequencies and tube screamers

i would like to know if youre going to eat dinner with the artists. like doing a collective break of one hour, order pizza and stuff like that.

or do you leave the artists for the dinner to relax a bit?

if your in a session, do you have someone to cook for you, or do you order stuff or do you do the cooking!?

i normally order pizza each day or do bbq, but i made bad experiances with bbq. one time in the studio we had bbq every day. i gained about 6kg in 5 days....

great tip on the de esser i've had that issue a few times never thought of that always put on the wet track and it kinda took some life out this would definitely work...
