Could ask a lot of questions but don't want to take the piss, so:


1) Do you prefer "producing" bands or just mixing them? And how heavily do you get involved in the songwriting process when you're producing?

2) How often, if at all, have you had to play guitar parts for bands that weren't good enough to play bits themselves? (no names need to be mentioned obviously haha) If so - did the bands know about it?

This thread is awesome, I actually just noticed this thread.

What stands out for me the most in of Andy's mixes is the verb on drums. It just sounds so smashing.
Unfortunatelly I do not have access to dVerb (Cubase user). Do you have any other recommandations reverb wise?
I never get that "smack". I get a nice room with the verb, but not that "smack" I'm looking for on snare & toms.

no its just a stock 5150.

no i dont use anything else but a touch of eq and multi band comp IF it needs it.
