whatever works for ya...i prefer to keep my master buss pretty clean when mixing, but different strokes for different folks
i'll usually stick a decent plug-in comp. on there and turn it on from time to time with 2-3db compression just to see how things sound with a little squishing, but 90% of the time i go with nothing on the master
