Computer won’t pick up Focusrite Saffire firewire interface?

This is the model I’m using:

When installing drivers, the computer refuses to pick up that the device is plugged in (of course it is, the firewire port is even powering some of the LED lights)?

I have proper texas instrument firewire ports, so is there some setting at the back of beyond my system that I’m missing here? Currently using XP.

I’ve looked on Focusrites website, but can’t seem to find any useful information, just a help guide for fine tuning your computer for audio (which I’ve already done).

I’ve also tried this device on two PC’s, and neither will pick up this interface as being plugged into the system….

well if the problem occurs on multiple computers that would lead me to believe that there is something wrong with the interface.. contact focusrite if it's still under warranty?

Bought it off ebay, the guy I bought it off says that it works for him...
