This thread should be good for the next 100 years ...

Does anyone on the forum go to live shows anymore?

Just attended this ... Gigantour = Megadeth, Motörhead, Volbeat, Lacuna Coil

Would like to see/hear a few DT shows in the not too far future :)

Rammstein are touring the USA starting in April

I'll be in Florida to see them on April 21 in St. Petersburg (Tampa) FL
but may fly from Pittsburgh to Miami(instead of directly to Orlando)
to see them on the 20th in Sunrise FL.
Only problem, would have to drive(about 7 hours)to Orlando(where my Sister lives) then drive(2.5 hours) to St. Pete,
not much if any time for sleep if I do that?
I have tickets for Cleveland OH and St Pete.

off topic ... If you ever find yourself in St Petersburg FL check out the Salvador Dali Museum

Review of a R+ show by a friend from the Netherlands, she has attended over 30 R+ concerts ...

"After the break it becomes completely dark.
The bridge is lowering with big thunder sounds and steam, marvelous!
R+ enters from the back of the arena through the crowd. Unfortunately I can’t see them because a) there are a lot of people standing between me and the back of the hall and b) the bridge is blocking the view J.
But I do see a flame and I know Olli's holding it J. What a great entrance! They walk over the bridge holding flags. Olli lights the 2 beacons. One right in front of me. Then they start with Sonne. For me not a great song to open the show with. I had hoped they’d started with Mein Herz brennt. Straight after Sonne it’s Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?. Yes, E*** is happy. One of her favorite songs included in the show. Then it’s Keine Lust, Sehnsucht, Asche zu Asche, Feuer Frei! and Mutter. During Mutter the stage turns green and Paul sits down right in front of me. I really don’t like the song, I had preferred Seemann, but hey you can’t have it all. Then the first sounds of Mein Teil. Yes, the cooking pot and the chef’s outfit are back. As is the big fire bow during Du riechst so gut. Great! Then Schneider leads us into Links 2-3-4. During Du hast there are no masks (I had seen those on pics beforehand, but they skipped them). I’m also happy to hear Haifisch (yes I like newer songs as well J). Again Haifisch is accompanied with a beautiful blue light. Yes the lighting at this show is brilliant again. When Flake enters the boat I watch the stage as usual. Olli sits down in front of me. Flake returns, Olli moves away and then Richard has disappeared. I turn round and there he is behind the keyboard on the smaller stage. It’s the intro for Bück dich. The on the main stage there are 4 men on their knees with Frau Schneider handling the whip. O my god, how great they included it in the show. So over the bridge they went on their knees being kicked and whipped. I try to look over all the heads to see something on the small stage. I do see quite a bit. Flake is at the receiving end again as usual. Then it’s Mann gegen Mann, a song that doesn’t do justice to the setlist. From where I’m standing no special effects during this song either. Then the small stage rises above the crowd and it’s time for Ohne dich. My god, they play all my least favorites J (I know I’m about the only R+ fan who doesn’t like this song). Then they walk back over the bridge and it’s time for Mein Herz brennt. Like I said, it would have been better as an opener for the show, but still a very beautiful song, back to the burning heart that gets ripped out. At the beginning of this song the lower down a big ventilator. Very beautiful. I very much like the industrial décor at their shows and the colour scheme of the light is very well chosen. Time for Amerika. I’m standing straight in front of the confetti sprayer so I get the full load of blue shiny confetti. During Ich will Paul gives me a big smile when he sees me head banging (do I look ridiculous doing that? I begin to wonder). Then it’s time for a (very) short break. And it’s Engel, like I said the setlits with all my least favorite songs (thank god they didn’t include Spieluhr and Amour as well), but like with the LIFAD tour the wings make the song come to live. Really beautiful. Then it’s time for the last song “Pussy”. The giant dildo is revealed but what is that? No balls? It’s the old one. Good thing is that I’m standing right next to it so Till will mount it right in front of me (gets camera ready). And yes if I thought I got the full load of confetti the load from the giant dildo was even bigger. But we’re having a great time. Then the security walks by handing out stickers saying “I survived first row with Rammstein” to the people on the front row. No pushing at all during this gig. Everyone enjoying him/herself."

I shoulda bumped the R+ thread but my BFF matse gets too excited at times

Haven't been to a show since Katatonia's anniversary show in Stockholm this past December. But if I play my cards right, I shall be attending Gojira, Lamb of God, and Dethklok in August and Katatonia, Devin Townshend Project, and Paradise Lost in September.
