That album is good but pretty inconsistent. I’d take most of those over it.

I'd say their overratedness is pretty ubiquitous with metal fandom in general. GMD likes them, ANUS likes them, RYM likes them, M-A likes them

prozak quite liked dissection but the ANUS crowd around here used to shit on them

definitely one of the most overrated metal bands in the history of GMD

secondly, Dissection didn't go "melodeath" until Reinkaos, so i dont know why the hell you guys are even over here namedropping them when talking about melodeath.

They should have stopped at the demos or stayed with that sound

The demos are mostly good, but overrated. Solid tech-thrash but not pinnacles of the genre or anything. Focus was totally unique.
