Controversial opinions on metal

I've always thought PT's lyrics are gay. Alice in Chains had some really good lyrics(not all of them, but the majority). Death has good lyrics. Krohm. Katatonia. But not PT.

They do when they're part of why I called something dorky and someone responds by saying that I just find intelligence to be dorky.

Besides, the lyrics are clearly a big part of Porcupine Tree's music and nearly all of their fans praise them whenever they talk about the band from my experience.

Except that 90% of metal lyrics are about killing christians and shit.

Nice user title, btw.

Edit: @Orion

@Omni: sure. I was just talking in general. The subject at hand made me think of a controversial opinion.

Also gore lyrics annoy me because they're a total cop-out.

Porcupine Tree's lyrics really aren't that intelligent. They're kind of gay.

Trains has good lyrics imo

Train set and match spied under the blind
Shiny and contoured the railway winds
And I've heard the sound from my cousin's bed
The hiss of the train at the railway head

Always the summers are slipping away

A 60 ton angel falls to the earth
A pile of old metal, a radiant blur
Scars in the country, the summer and her

Always the summers are slipping away
Find me a way for making it stay

When I hear the engine pass
I'm kissing you wide
The hissing subsides
I'm in luck

When the evening reaches here
You're tying me up
I'm dying of love
It's OK

EDIT: Porcupine Tree shits on Opeth and Dream Theater

EDIT: and Tool but not as much :3

"Trains" is one of the few songs by them that I've enjoyed, something I posted somewhere else on this site recently. That doesn't change the fact that many of their songs have horribly awkward and dorky lyrics.
