Converting stereo to mono in PT...

For some reason every time people send me tracks that are supposed to be mono , like DI, they love to send them in stereo. Is there any way to make them mono in PT without affecting the sound quality? Or should I have them just re-export on their end in mono?

Create two mono tracks, drag the stereo region onto the two mono tracks and it will be split. Delete one of the tracks so you're left with just one mono track.

Ok. I wasn't sure if splitting stereo into mono makes it lose any information

^Not if the right and left channels share the exact same data.

You can check if they're dual mono by switching the polarity on one of the tracks and summing to mono. If they disappear completely they're the same.
