Cornford Cabs? Anyone got any experiences?

Got an email back from Matamp and they're saying £540 plus shipping for the Retro 4x12". Which is quite a nice price for something you can customise choosing the tolex/grillcloth etc. Though to be honest I'm not too bothered about what it looks like as long as it sounds good.

Had a lengthy discusssion with my guitar player about what kinda sound we're looking for and after listening to Oz's Marshall/Mesa cab comparison from a while back we think a Blackstar would be best. We like the clarity of the Marshall but liked the thickness of the Mesa and I reckon that something Mesa dimensions with stock V30's (rather than Mesa's darker voiced V30's) would be a good compromise.

Emailed that shop on ebay about getting a straight cab rather than an angled one but because they bought them after the price increase it would be an extra £50. So I reckon I'm just gonna go for the angled one.

I just have to say that after being disillusioned with my Stiletto cab (which I bought because it seemed to be the best example of the "standard-sized" 4x12's with V30s), I'm starting to feel that V30s really need to be in an oversized cab so the excess mids around 400-600 are "scooped," but only in the sense that the tone doesn't sound overly stuffy (so perhaps better to think of the regular-sized V30 cabs such as the Stiletto as having too much mids, rather than the Recto oversized having too little). So I would really push for the Blackstar cab if I were you!
