Covers you would love to hear by Opeth

I'd do many things to hear them trying to play a Song of "Scooter" (awfull german Techno- "Band").:tickled:
Mikael threatened us at the concert, that they would play scooter if we didn't sing along... of course everybody sang...:Spin:

Oh man, I had happily managed to forget Scooter's existance until you brought that up! :erk:

In about 2000/2001, they had several hits in the UK, the biggest of which was their cover of Supertramps 'The Logical Song', which reached number 3 I think. It was everywhere. You couldn't escape. For those of you who haven't heard it... more irritating than Crazy Frog.

WORST

BAND

EVER

Funny idea though

Iron Man by Sabbath
Stairway to Heaven by Zeppelin
Money by Pink Floyd
Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains

all I can think of right now

+1 it would be cool if it was just mendez doing the wicked bassline

"my name is mendez..."

"Not to be confused with akerfeldt or lopez or lindgren or wiberg..."

Opeth should cover Jerry was a Racecar Driver

Hmm... how about:

Sailing The Seas Of Cheese.

Just kidding. Enough of the Primus covers!

How about (really):

Rapture
God Of Emptiness
Dawn Of The Angry
Hatework (let's see how Mike dishes out the brutal death metal growls in this one)
And maybe something off of Altars Of Madness

... All by Morbid Angel. Morbid Angel pwns.

Either "No Quarter" or "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin, anyone else?
Not Immigrant Song, but DEFINITELY No Quarter, now that they have a keyboard player. Usually I don't like covers of songs that are basically perfect in the original, but No Quarter has such an Opeth-y vibe to it that I think Opeth could do something really interesting with it.
