Crackling audio on OSX 10.10 (Line 6 UX2)

I decided to give my Hackintosh another shot and threw Yosemite on it. Way more stable, works like a charm. Exept for some crackling audio from time to time.

Not that big of a deal I thought. Until yesterday, when I noticed, that the cracks/pops are not only a playback issue, they are on the recordings aswell...

Someone got similar problems and an idea how to fix it?

I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but what's your buffer size set to? Wifi card installed and enabled?

I had an old Dell laptop that would give me pops/cracks if I didn't go into Device Manager and disable the wireless adapter.

The thing is, I was forcing 64 Samples with Reaper in the beginning. And I think it's gotten better after removing that. But still not completely pop free. I have set it to "Extra Small" in the Line 6 Driver now, which should be something like 128 Samples.

I had a similar problem, back when I was on Windows and there disbaling the WifFi Card helped. So I didn't even install the Wireless Driver this time…

My line 6 ux2 crackles too from time to time, but for me it's just a playback issue and it's almost inaudible so I can't be bothered to do anything. And i'm using a macbook. But it's just for playing at home so.

I just found this in another thread, will try it when I get home:

"I had similar problems with my UX2. The problem is most frequently caused by insufficient current being delivered to the interface via USB. The answer is to use a USB 3.0 port which delivers higher currents as standard than USB 2.0 or 1.1. I installed a standalone PCI (or PCI-e) USB 3.0 expansion card which gave me two ports for about 20 euro."

Edit: That doesn't seem to help…

I had a bastard of a time with that stupid interface until I stuck it on a powered USB hub. Thing is a power suck.

I'm looking for a new interface as I'm just about sick of the fucking thing, but it seems like every interface has some kind of assblow feature built into it. Hum, crackling, popping, channel imbalance, clipping instrument inputs...

I guess I'll try the powered hub until I find a decent one

I hope it fixes your problem. It's the only issue I ever had with mine.

It would actually kill my mac though, that's how fucking bad it got.
