Create your dream band!

A couple for me would be:

Russell Allen - voice
Matt Bellamy - voice, axe, and keyboards/piano
Joe Satriani - axe
John Myung - bass
Jimmy Chamberlin - drums

Gavin Hayes (Dredg) - voice
John Petrucci - axe
Alex Skolnick - axe
Flea - bass
Michael Pinnella - keyboards/piano
Neil Peart - drums

A little off-topic, but I just wanted to say that I defended my applied project successfully this morning, and I'll finally be getting my Master's degree!!! :kickass: :D

Vocals: Russ Allen (SX)
Guitar: Tony MacAlpine (Planet X, Self)
Bass: Franck Hermanny (Adagio)
Keys: Rudess (Dream Theater)
Drums: Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree - He just blows my mind)

And to produce, and help with shit like atmosphere, backup vocals etc: Steve Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Opeth)

Guest growls, and clean backup vocals: Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)

This should make an interesting combo.
Dave Hunt (aka V.I.T.R.I.O.L. from Anaal Nathrakh) - Psychotic Vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) - Clean Vocals (maybe some grunting also), Guitars
Kristian Niemann (Therion, Demonoid) - Guitars
Tony Choy (Atheist) - Bass
Hellhammer (Arcturus, Mayhem and a million other bands) - Drums

Mixed and stuff by Swanö and maybe he can drop a few grunts or two aswell.

No fucking keyboardist.

No one got that? *feelings are hurt*:erk:

The Individual Thought Patterns of course. the best "Death" line-up ever, in mi opinion. i love DiGiorgio's fretless bass lines in Overrrrr Actiiiiive Imaginatiooon!

i actually played in a benefit gig for Chuck in 2003 and 2006. mainly covering the best songs of each Death album, if you go to emptywords -> benefit, both gigs are included in the Official benefit concerts. we contacted Chuck's mother and had an awesome chat with her. incredible times... Long Live Chuck.

Interesting thread...l remember putting a band together in a similar thread somewhere else...went something like this.

Vocals - Gregg Analla (Seventhsign, Tribe of Gypsies)
Guitars - Rusty Cooley (Outworld)
Bass - John Myung (DT)
Keys - Vitalij Kuprij (Artension)
Drums - Tomas Haake (Meshuggah)

An acoustic vocal ensemble would be interesting. Not exactly sure how it would sound but they would work out something sweet I bet. Something along the lines of the Opeth Damnation album with a twist.

Michael Akerfeldt (Vox/Acoustic Guitar)
Daniel Gildenlow (Vox/Acoustic Guitar)
Tori Amos (Vox/Piano)

Bass, Drums...

Personally i would substitute Gildenlow (we're NOT getting into a pro-gildenlow/anti-gildenlow debate here, this is serious) for Mick Moss from Antimatter

I got a good old school lineup.

Guitar - Frank Zappa - Solo
Keys - Keith Emerson - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Bass - Geddy Lee - Rush
Drums - Carl Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer; Asia
Vocals - It doesn't really matter as long as they're willing to sit around doing nothing for 20 minute instrumental breaks every other song.

Main singer - Russell Allen (Symphony X)
Back Vocals - Vortex (Arcturus, Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar)
Sebastian Bach (Skid Row, Damnocracy)
1st Guitarist - Dimebag Darrell (Pantera, Damage Plan) R.I.P.
2nd Guitarist - Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society)
Bassist - Robert Trujillo
Drums - Me
