"Cult" u.s. metal

^^ Oohhhh yea!

But they need to get Goat Horn, Rammer, Twisted Tower Dire and Slough Feg on there, then it'll fucking be the best thing ever.

Leatherwolf

Winterhawk

Any fans?

Not really cult, but people seem to have forgotten about Warrior Soul...huge favorite of mine.
I like em all very much, especially Savage Grace - there are in the CULT band company of the BLACK DRAGON bands (Candlemass - Manilla Road - Heir Apparent etc). There are some Winterhawk fans in the board.

Liege Lord. Another definition of power metal. Their first album "Freedom's Rise" is outstanding heavy metal with powerfull tunes and a slight epic atmosphere. Their second "Burn To My touch" is their least good - great though and more "thrashy", but just a bridge to their masterpiece : "MASTER CONTROL" - a pinnacle of power/speed metal the way it should be : full of energy, powerfull, dynamic, and RAW.

I'd like to hear Master Control. I caught a few reviews, and also realized Joe Comeau (ex Overkill, Annihilator) sang on the album. Every review I've read calls it a work of art.

Yeah! I listened to some of the Rivera stuff plus I pulled out "Transition"....and coming up this week, a return to the unholy "Nosferatu". :kickass:

I have a bunch of stuff to listen to. You even sent me a Manowar tape!

Ah yes, and a great tape it is! Now I can make Manowar cds!!! Watch out world!!

Just got through watching Troy, it seems only fitting that I crack "Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy In Eight Parts"!! But then again that was a three hour movie and that's a 30 minute song.... ugh, maybe not just yet!

this thread died way too fast last time 'round!
old epic heavy metal from the U.S. is fucking AWESOME and needs to be listened to by more people!

Actually, I've heard that tape now a couple of times, plus I've heard "Hail to England" in its entirety. I become more and more suprised just how "speed metal"-like some Manowar material really is. [Obviously putting aside imagery, theme, looks, and lyrics].

And then I heard the riff connections between Manowar and Bathory....wow, it's not even subtle.

Legend are NWOBHM. Stop threadjacking!

Yea but Slough Feg covered them and I wanna hear the original of "The Wizard's Vengeance" since the cover beat me into submission like a bag of bricks!

Yes, yes, so I see.....
