what? :D
i'd actually like to hear if people have something new and worthy to offer, and posting it in the opeth related was an accident.
and there's obviously a thread like this somewhere that i forgot to check.
:C

ive been listening to alot of herbie hancock lately, i used to only listen to his jazz stuff but i recently got a copy of a few of his funky albums. i enjoy head hunters and sunlight, kind of disco-ish. been listening to alot of mahavishnu orchestra because i never really liked them awhile ago because i thought that mclaughlin (and alot of fusion players) were just fappers. been listening to maudlin of the well, i like a few of their songs on bath, andy mckee and don ross, and a strange band named Tortoise that sounds like a mix of rock and electronics sort of stuff. highly recommended

I'm more into heavier music right now, Opeth is the least heavy from the other bands I hear, but, it's just a band that's too good not to listen to...
It's also my favorite, which is odd, considering my playlist is like:

Bloodbath
Behemoth
Hate
Dissection
Morbid Angel
Dark Tranquility
Katatonia
Edge of Sanity :)D)
and Opeth of course

Well that's pretty much my favorite bands, and yes I know they're not all heavier than Opeth... :kickass:

Mostly;

Opeth
Korpiklaani
Children of Bodom
Gamma Ray
Ayreon

Other stuff;

Stratovarius
Sonata Arctica
Carcass
In Flames
Dream Theater
Iron Maiden

And many others, which I don't want to mention.

I'm too lazy to mention songs.

The "Now Playing" thread in the non-opeth related sub-forum should do for this purpose, also the "what music have you bought recently".

If you really want to know about my playlist(s) atm: Yesterday I told my IPod to just play all songs on it randomly. That's 801 songs from the following genres: Acoustic, Alternative, Electronica, Folk, Jazz, Metal, New Age, Punk, R&B, Rap, Rock, Soul, Techno, World Music. Bands that feature biggest in this collection are Opeth and Skyclad.

Recently, I decided to listen to some older stuff from my collection, music I haven't listened to for quite a while. Currently, it's Osibisa (African Soul group). Yesterday I gave old Manowar stuff a listen, and also Rüdiger Oppermann (German harp player doing folk/world/newage kind-a stuff). After Osibisa, i will put on Ougenweide (a German folk-rock group that was big in the 70s). So, I'm on a little nostalgia trip. But after that, I think i'll need some Nile.
