Custom guitar painting

Yeah well it was like this:

He painted the picture on the guitar with "pastel" if you call that paint the same I'm not sure that's the right english expression. Then we used that spray that is used to spray cars...U know the transparent spray, I don't know again how you call it in english...I guess car polish :D or car varnish :D

And then we pealed off the spray or varnish :D on those spots that didn't include the picture....and it has beem completely stable for six year.... Of course you can put it off with a sharp piece of plastic... but you can't peal it off with playing :D

Are you absolutely sure that it isnt clear coated then?

my current 7 string project

oscillat0r, I didn't do it myself, I hired this guy to pimp it. He didn't scrape off the original body color but just layered them with acrylic paints. And those are also paint colors on the wings not stained or sanded wood. He told me that he it'd been coated with a layer of polyurethane. I dig the roughness of the finishing, looks exactly like a real oil painting on canvas.

This is a no ordinary PIMP MY AXE, it's the artist's interpretation of my life. I told him a lil' bit about myself and he successfully reduced it in this great art form. Maybe you guys too can have some rough idea on what/how my life is. He named this one as "Freedom and Duality" and this is what he described:

*double imagery
*fishes and wings
*the highway
*strive
Move forward
*fish in the tank analogy/ back fins as wings when split.

ikan - you need to replace the eyelets where the string comes through the body or you'll damage your new finish which looks great.
