I've seen Cynic 2x and can say their tone absolutely does NOT suck live. They are using Axe-FX direct to F.O.H.
Gotta remember it's a 50/50 chance that it's either their tone, or an lacking engineer running sound.

I can also vouch for this.
Cynic's live tone is absolutely incredible. Their live sound was crystal clear when I saw them, all round perfection.
Opeth sounded like shit that night.

Last I saw Opeth, I couldn't tell what they were running and Fredrik played an hour beforehand with Arch Enemy...so I dunno. T'was Gigantour almost 4 years ago.

To the genius who put Scale The Summit, The Devin Townsend Project, Cynic, and Between The Buried And Me on the same tour and came to the conclusion that having either Cynic or Devin Townsend headlining would just make too much goddamn sense...

I love all 4 on the tour, but Cynic and Devin aren't exactly the most popular acts in the world right now.
