Due to my lack of money, I missed the opening night of the Maiden tour here in CT. :Smug:
As posted by blabbermouth:

IRON MAIDEN performed its new album, "A Matter of Life and Death", in its entirety during the opening concert of the band's North American tour, which kicked off Wednesday night (October 4) in Hartford, Connecticut. The band's setlist was as follows:

01. Different World
02. These Colours Don't Run
03. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns
04. Pilgrim
05. Longest Day
06. Out of the Shadows
07. Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
08. For the Greater Good of God
09. Lord of Light
10. Legacy
11. Fear of the Dark
12. Iron Maiden
---------------------
13. 2 Minutes to Midnight
14. The Evil that Men Do
15. Hallowed Be Thy Name

As previously reported, Sanctuary Records will release IRON MAIDEN's "Different World" as a single in the U.S. on November 14, featuring Radio 1 Zane Lowe's "Legends" session of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and "The Trooper" as B sides. These tracks have previously been used as B sides to "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg", which was released in Europe in August and although it was not eligible for the U.K. chart it reached No 1 in Spain, Sweden, Finland and Hungary. There's a "stunning" promotional video full of animated action packed adventure to accompany the single, directed by Howard Greenhalgh. A preview image can be viewed at this location.

I'm going to see them next friday at Continental in NJ, and i'm actually pretty excited about them playing the new album. It takes a few listens to really get into, but it definatly grows on you. Besides, i've seen them 5-6 times already and i rather them play material they've never played before instead of the standard set they have been playing for 10+ years.

Up the Irons!

I like the new album, but it was a slow process. At first it didn't blow me away, but now every song bring something to the album.

i just got back from the mountains yesterday afternoon. i was tired and nobody else i know is really into them. i know its all excuses, but going to the city for a concert alone isnt really that fun. and its expensive. and if they didnt play 'i am the wargod' i would burn their fuckin bus! bottom line it was too much personal effort with little motivation.

Under typical circumstances sir, I could understand that... but Destroyer 666 is a band that could very easily never come back to America again. You may have missed your only opportunity!

Although, I'd rather go camping in the mountains for 5 days than see Destroyer 666 for an hour.
