Damn it.

my samsung just died a week ago... outta the blue for no reason. technology isn't making quality better thats for sure. theyre making them cheaper and cheaper, the bastards!

I know!! the fucked up thing is I knew it was dying and I was in the process of writing the numbers down... I JUST started got to Al..... then it died..:waah:

Eh, my SLVR is still going strong, but man do I want something with a QWERTY keypad to replace it! :( I generally take a dim view of text messaging ALL the time; I certainly do it a fair amount cuz I think it's useful for either communicating quick bits of info or when I'm in a place where I can't talk, but I still make an effort to call people a lot, I just think it's more courteous!

finally someone who agrees! I outright refuse to text at all for this reason haha. Also because I'm stubborn, but... whatever.

.. Its no news that Motorola, Siemens and Samsung pretty much sucks at making cellphones.

It ain't just Motorola. Most (if not all) new cell phones are pieces of shit.

my htc touch has an option to upload my contacts to the server of my provider :heh:
or I can make full backups automatically and save them on my pc.

same here, especially because I have some free minutes, and no free sms :)
and I'm running icq on my phone

My friend dropped his phone in his pint once.. when we were out on the town pissed as farts. It was flashing its lights and everything, going mental in his pint and it still works perfectly fine!

My motorola L6 is still going strong.... which is annoying because it's shite so I want an excuse to get a new one haha

Joe

My mate spilt beer on my last phone, so now I have a motorola brick, its been in the shower in me and not broken yet so I'm pretty confident in this one lasting.

i never have to worry about this.... i have an iPhone and i have the Mobile Me "push data" service... so any conact i enter, no matter whether i enter it into my phone, my laptop, or my desktop computer, updates to all of them within 30 seconds or less... that's every paramter of contact data i enter, incl. photo of the person. and even if all 3 blew up at one time, the service also updates it to your secure account onine, so i can just access them there. never again will i lose contacts due to losing a phone.

but if you look at the prices of these phones (ranging anywhere from $200 to $500), its ridiculous that they wouldnt be made well. i know that 9/10 the phones are free or drastically reduced when you sign up for a new plan. but for those who dont, and just need to replace, its really expensive. any other product that cost on average $300 and died in 1.5 years for no reason, that compnay would be outta business. yet with these phones/providers, they make us think its ok and that it was time to upgrade anyways... bastards!
