Eh, my SLVR is still going strong, but man do I want something with a QWERTY keypad to replace it! I generally take a dim view of text messaging ALL the time; I certainly do it a fair amount cuz I think it's useful for either communicating quick bits of info or when I'm in a place where I can't talk, but I still make an effort to call people a lot, I just think it's more courteous!
Does anyone else here notice that they spend an hour texting for something that could be a 5 minute phone call???
It ain't just Motorola. Most (if not all) new cell phones are pieces of shit.

i never have to worry about this.... i have an iPhone and i have the Mobile Me "push data" service... so any conact i enter, no matter whether i enter it into my phone, my laptop, or my desktop computer, updates to all of them within 30 seconds or less... that's every paramter of contact data i enter, incl. photo of the person. and even if all 3 blew up at one time, the service also updates it to your secure account onine, so i can just access them there. never again will i lose contacts due to losing a phone.
