It has happened. When i was checking last.fm for latest AA journeys i foud this one: "New album leaked". Since I was sure it was a troll, i checked some sites and DAMN YES. Its leaked.

I dont know which person did it, but its very sad. Cant people just wait till the album comes and buy it? Amon amarth deserves it.

SO sad.

Alot of promo cd's are out there at the moment. It could have been anyone. It is sad but you could see it happening couldn't you?

Well in fact I did. But dont we all hope it doesnt happen? If people download an album of U2 or Metallica they wont notice it. Groups like Amon amarth on the other hand really need the money their CD's.

But indeed, it has become common.

If it weren't for downloading mp3's, I probably never would have heard of Amon Amarth, which means I probably never would have bought any of their records and never paid to see them live. Leaking before the realease date is a bummer, though.

True, but arent there already enough MP3's of AA out there though?

And then again, why should we care? I know some members here downloaded the album - I don't care, because if they are réal fans they support this band b buying it anyway!

I try to support this band as much as possible, by promoting them on my webzine, buying the releases and dvd, shirts and go to concerts when I can. And if we all do that, itll make a bit of a change right?

Actually they kept it secret for pretty long time. I had FoN before Wacken two years ago where this one only just now leaked and that's really due to label sending out promo versions. They kept it pretty thight this time around.

As far as mp3s, lets face it, if it wasn't for them half of us on this forum wouldn't be here. I see them as a big plus for smaller / underground bands than a negative. It certainly hurts the commercial/MTV7/VH1 acts, but who cares about those.

i discover a lot of new material via MP3, and yes, if i really really like it, i will go out and buy the CD/DVD/Concert Tickets...

it's never the little guy who complains anyways, but always someone like Metallica etc.

yeah and the commercial bands who complain make shitty music (since they dont make music because they LIKE to make it, but for the money) most of the times anyway.. well metallica is a bit of an exeption (tho i think they are pretty commercial)

I'm another one whose purchases are increased, not decreased, by MP3s. If I download it and I like it, I buy it. I've several hundred CDs here to support that claim. If I don't like it, I don't listen to it anymore, so I'd not have bought it anyway.

I can understand the disappointment in finding something leaked before official release, but I can also understand those who download it, too. It's a tricky situation, unfortunately.

I could have waited if I hadn't known that it was leaked. Now I just can't resist downloading. Of course I will still buy the album

Well I feel that I have downloaded so many CD's and honestly I don't have much money. Bands that I really love like AA and Dissection and what not, I buy the CD, but in reality even some of the bands I like a bit that I have downloaded I still would not buy a CD because of money reasons. So I don't see why it's that bad for me to download them, it might be a copout, but it's the truth. Though I will buy the new AA

I have no problem or whatsoever with downloading and later on buying the album since I also download sometimes.
And indeed, it will be downloadable after all. If its not due to promo's its after the release.
