damnation clean guitar tone

i think i have made a thread about this before...anyway, in my opinion, it is the most beautiful clean tone i have ever heard on any album...ever.

it is very dark, and rich, with nice harmonics. it has that those natural overtones that pulsate like an extremely warm overdrive. its also really sqongy....it has that class A vox sponginess.

what really gets me though, is how the notes seem to have a warm and organic swell to them. this is especially evident on "in my time of need." it is so fucking nice.

has anyone ever been able to get a sound like this out of your setup? i have the VC-30, but i can't quite get it...it sounds nice, but damn...that tone just melts me.

what do you guys think?

yes...it is a pretty damn nice tone, I'm a big fan of the Face of Melinda tone myself...opeth needs a signature guitar pedal

...and id say my favorite clean guitar tone ever has come from Reine Fiske.

gilmour and mikael's clean tones are close behind..along with many others.

The Damnation-sound is indeed beautiful, but I have yet to find a sound more beautiful than the slow solos on Lady Fantasy by Camel.
