Dear Mikael and Opeth

Shalom from California, I have counsins in Tel Aviv that got to see that show earlier this year. From the Opeth fanart section on their site and the fact that the show sold out in 9 days, it seems Opeth has a huge fanbase in Israel. I don't profess to know anything about marketing a tour, but selling out in 9 days is pretty damn good, so Opeth'll probably come back.

Hey!

Thanks for that dude!
Don't listen to those people calling you a fanboy. We certainly appreciate this a hell of a lot more than a lot of the other comments we get here.
Some people like to complain about their favourite bands, some like to show their appreciation. I know what I prefer.

Thanks again...unfortinately we end the touring cycle after this brief Euro tour so it might take some time til we're back out there.

Cheers
Mike

When I read this thread and the posts after that, I was just HOPING you would answer like this. Thank man. Fuck these overly-critical negative 'thinkers'.

Just enjoy the great music Opeth makes, people! There isn't anything better!

I'm not sure if you're even going to read this.
My name is Nadav Nazarathy, I'm a great fan of your music, and your songwriting.
I greatly appreiciate the variety of your music.

The soft and mellow songs such as "Hope Leaves" (my faviourate of damnation) Or "Patterns in the Ivy II" just make me want to cry.

The amazing heavy songs such as demon of the fall,

"just one second, and I was left with nothing
her fragrance still pulsating through damp air
that day came to an end, and she had lost in me
her credence"

When I hear this I want to cry over and over again.

I live in Israel (which isn't so bad as you've seen when you've been here).
Unfourtanatly, I don't see any shows that you guys are planning to do here at the time.
I know it's pretty hopeless, but please, please oh please come again to israel.

Me and many many huge israeli fans would cry of happiness if you guys would be here once more.

So, please come soon.

Sincerly yours, Nadav Nazarathy, Israel

By the way, when will the next album come out?
I'm craving for new material. Love your art, and i want more.

dont forget to ask the israeli promoters. it's not only up to the band.

You guys re-invented music for me.
Your's, Nadav

Im now officially very proud of my fanboyism

Nadavnaz,

I'm also a fan, but perhaps you're a little too sensitive? I mean if you cry when you
listen to opeth's mellow and hard songs AND even if they would come and play live
- you cry all the time, then? :D

Holy shit, dude... I read this after my first response. You really blown your
"I'm-a-cute-little-innocent-fanboy"-cover! How dare you accuse Mike of being fake after
he answered you and everything? Everybody on the forum knows it's Mike.

haha, if he said he was crying I don't think he ment it literally. He was just telling how much he's feeling for the band. I do to.
I AM A FANBOI, and I really don't understand why thats a bad thing?
I'm not going to say some of you criticise, but you are expressing your lameness sometimes.

Take Care now.

That's his friends that think that.. Not him :p

I think being a fanboy is a bad thing because it means you're too obsessive that you want to know about their personal lives and all this shit that isn't even about the music anymore. That's just my definition of fanboy. I think I'm as big a fan as you can be without being a fanboy. The threadstarter didn't do anything to show that he's a fanboy though, just a big fan like me.

well then, I suppose I misunderstood the meaning of the word; fanboy.
I am only a fan, love their music, go on as much conerts as possible, when they perform nearby.
Obsessed with the music? oh yes. Obsessed with them personal, hell no.
But I do show interest in their personal side, if you know what I mean.
