Death Magnetic release date

I was way over 30 when I bought an album because of it's back cover, Goddess Of Desire "Symbol Of Triumph". It has two hot babes claded in S&M clothes , the bestpart is that not only I like the album I become a fan of the band and got all the others (and their covers are pretty cheesy).

woah... i really like this! thanks for the random namedrop. lmao  :headbang:

All the stuff I have heard on Mission Metallica sounds really promising. Every interview I have seen with the band says it is a return to classic Metallica style. A modern 'Master of Puppets' is what I have heard. I think they really have realised that they can't carry on making crap albums.
They do have some serious ground to make up though.

It's a bit Faustian really: you can be themetal band for ten years, then you have to suck massive eggs for the next fifteen...

I think they've done their penance. Come on back, boys...

Kinda philosophical, but it may be the final truth (hope again).

BTW, welcome to the forum.

It wont be a return to classic Metallica style.

It wont be a modern "master of puppets".

It will be Metallica anno 2008 mixing their previous stuff with new influences. Remember that St Anger was also hailed as a return to classic Metallica. Some songs being likened to old thrashy stuff while others was compared to the "complexity of ...and justice for all" etc.

I think its a mistake to go into this expecting to hear stuff that closely resembles what they did during the 80's because thats not the kind of band they are anymore.

Absolutely true, but the question remains, can we still dream a bit? :zombie:

Dont'ask me, I found this in another forum

:zombie: looooool, that pic definitely made my day...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this cover is actually pretty good. It ties in with the title Death Magnetic perfectly and does so in an inventive and simple matter. The coffin is the magnet and the black around it is metal that is being affected by the magnetic field. It conveys a concept instead of being just another cliched metal album cover. I mean do we need yet another cheesy looking barbarian/fantasy scene?
Also, I refuse to comment on the music of this album until I actually HEAR the damn thing.

Yes, yes we do need a "cheesy looking barbarian / fantasy scene"...and we need it now!
I give you credit, but I don't know how you can give a serious positive comment about the new cover, after seeing Wyverns pic? THE PHOTO OF THE YEAR GOs TO...
