Death Magnetic release date

I don't think they should have recorded another album.

Why not? Shit, if they still like making music, who's to say otherwise? They'll always get bashed, they'll always be greedy this, or sell out that. But they still put on an incredible show. I think this album is going to be awesome, but we'll see.

An incredible show even though they turn up on stage an hour and a half late, which means they had to cut their set due to curfews? Yeah okay then.

And I am talking about Download Festival in Glasgow 2004.

I don't think they should record another one, given the fact that St Anger was awful, and they might produce something like that again.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this cover is actually pretty good. It ties in with the title Death Magnetic perfectly and does so in an inventive and simple matter. The coffin is the magnet and the black around it is metal that is being affected by the magnetic field. It conveys a concept instead of being just another cliched metal album cover. I mean do we need yet another cheesy looking barbarian/fantasy scene?
Also, I refuse to comment on the music of this album until I actually HEAR the damn thing.

The comments some people make makes me believe they never seen a pussy themselves and that they weren't present at the lessons in physics in school. The name of the album and the cover fits in well with eachother and I like the explenations behind the name. I of course hope the music will be alright ut I have low to no expectations on that.

Some random thoughts looking at the last posts:

a) It's obvious that is a magnetic field surrounding a coffin (at least if you have a science background like me)
b) it's obvious that fits the name of the album
c) it's obvious is a bad cover anyway!
d) it wasn't obvious (to me) that resemblances a female genitalia, but when it was noted I found it funny (because bashing Metallica is a favorite sport of mine since 1988)
d) some people both newbies and regulars SHOULD lighten up and enjoy more, just because we are the Old School that doesn't mean we are a bunch of grumpy old people.
e) Yes indeed the music will do the talking in the end, let's hope the best but don't keep your fingers crossed too much judging for the last 4 albums.

Not to change the subject Wyvern. While we are chatting bands that have 'METAL' in thier name, any Metalium fans here? They are old school power metal and they seem to have all the ingredients for a great metal band. Yet, somehow I have not yet caught onto them, maybe I haven't found the right release?

btw: they have some of the best album covers ever!

Metalium did an excellent album, their very first one (Chapter One-Millenium Metal). After that, it's not bad, but far to be great either. Too bad cause the singer is excellent. Their latest one was the best since the 1st one if I recall well.

If only the new album is anywhere near as good remains to be seen...

Track #2 pretty much sums it up for this band.

Yep.

No pun intended, but they really did blow thier load in making the great Black album. Nothing has even come close since.
