I'm sorry but you've been talking enough out of your ass for the posters in this entire thread. First, strings and symphonic workings are not the only way to create atmosphere and since you never clarified what you were talking about regarding atmosphere, you can't fault me for thinking you have never really scratched the surface in death metal. Also, as for the Deicide comment, there are tons of bands that have their "anti-religion/anti-god" lyrical theme, that its a complete joke that you even think that way. Try listening to a few more bands within a certain genre before you start spewing out your "knowledge" of said genre. You're going to have people falsely believe you know something.

  i've been talking out of my ass since the start of this thread? hahaha ok first of all I posted here to do a favor to the guy that started this thread. Did I said that strings/synth works are the only way to create an atmosphere? (hell you can create an atmosphere with guitar melodies) no, look at my fucking post again, hell i'm going to post it again

Actually Guardian you're quite off track there. black metal can be very brutal in terms of speed. Vocals are often screamed or screeched but you can find some growls in black metal and also some black metal bands are more into the atmospheric sound (with strings and synth sounds)

notice that i'm talking about strings and synths here? the same goes to the death metal description:rolleyes:

Do I have to explain my points all the way to you? I'm not talking about the anti-religion/anti-god theme, i'm talking about the speudo-satanist lyrical theme that that band has wich is not common among death metal bands. I know lots of band have an anti-religious image or have strong anti-religous beleifs and they aren't even death or black metal. Now before you start talking shit and before you come with that arrogant and ''I know everything'' attitude get your fucking facts straight and if you are going to bash points of other people make sure that you know what they are talking about before talking out of your ass

BLACK METAL HAS KEYBOARDS.
DEATH METAL DOES NOT.

There, the argument is settled.

All stupidity aside, I find black metal more melodic and death metal to be more rythmic. Of course, there are exceptions, just like in any other separation one can find.

Is it just me, or is it pretty damn easy to hear the difference between black and death metal, but not be able to explain it?

Yes I agree, I posted a description of black metal and death metal on the syx board wich is better than the one I did here and i'll see if I can post it here. I find it quite amusing that some trolls around here always take ''small things'' that are easy to understand and start calling you a ''retard, dumbfuck, moron'' and they don't even ask what you mean before letting their mouths full of shit loose.

alot of death metal has keyboard man, look at hypocrisy one of the first swedish death metal bands, and Troo black metal dosent have keyboard like Dark Throne and Mayhem

troooo black metal  haha and yeah a lot of swedish bands use keyboards (and other ones too) but lately it has been overdone a little bit IMO of course:D

I know! I was being sarcastic.

What's with this "troo" crap I always see? Does that stand for something or is it one of those internet lingo mispelling things, like saying "kewl" or something like that.
