It's by far my least favorite. With the exception of Deliverance (which i see as having the "exact" same song structure as BWP the song, so it bores me a bit), the album bores me to death. I listen to it once in a while, but it's really kind of dull compared to the others.

If people don't like some of Opeth's music they have a RIGHT to say so whether or not it pisses you (or Mikael!?) off...
Its only when they have very flimsy reasons that they don't like it that it gets annoying...then again my reason for not liking MAYH is just: I don't like it...hehe.

en listining to Opeth since still Life and own all of thier releases..Deliverance is not my fav Opeth CD but it's damn good.(.NoW you will like Deliverance and go clean your room..)opeth have progressed..Opeth will not release BWP 2 or Morningrise two..Even BWP, my least fave Opeth CD blows away the crappy nu metal that's marketed to USA teens today.. It's rather silly to repeat the same thread of "of Opeth have sucked since morning rise.."
Morning Rise and Orchid are good but flawed Cd's..Sure I like the journey like feel of Morning Rise, and the long acoustic interludes, but Opeth are all about progression,..I prefer MAYH and Still life to Deliverance but Deliverance is still very good..

Just because it's a certain band doesn't mean you are required to like everything they do. The original post was not "LOLOL Deliverance is ssh11t d00ds, go fuck yerself if u like it lololol!"
So anyway, he was simply expressing an opinion about Opeth, which is what the board is for. If you disagree, just state why you disagree without getting all uptight about it. Not everyone has the same taste as you do.
I personally agree with him, Deliverance tried to do stuff that Opeth wasn't exactly strong at, I never listened to Opeth for their death-metalish aspects. Those aspects are essential to their sound, but they concentrated too much on that sound, and it simply isn't what they are strongest at. A fair judgement is also pretty weak...

What I meant was, the appealing aspect of Opeth is how they combine soft acoustic stuff with deathmetal aspects. If Opeth tries to solely rely on their deathmetal side.. which deliverance mostly is, it's a weak album. If I want to listen to brutal deathmetal I'll listen to brutal deathmetal, not Opeth attempting to to it. Opeth is not brutal deatmetal, and they shouldn't try to be.

sorry, i know its your opinion but it will never sink in why you said that Orchid is Opeth's worst release... i love that album, it is undisputably the best release by any metal band EVER... of course IMO

I agree with Oyo here,everyone here is expressing their opinion and I think it's stupid to flame someone because you don't like their opinion about Opeth; yes they are a very good prog death metal band but not everyone likes every second out of each song out of each album.
