The only thing I find wrong with Deliverence is that is seems very incomplete. If it had been released with Damnation as a double album. It would be my favorite.

I have absolutely no complaints what-so-ever. The title track is awesome.

Masters opening riff is simple, but that doesn't bother me. Its heavy as fuck and reminds me of MA (which for me is fantastic).

Sometimes simple is the best! I mean a lot of you like benighted and harvest, they are simple but beautiful.

that's exactly what I was thinking. Incomplete is a good way to put it. I love the CD but there was always something about it that kept me from liking it even more and I couldn't think of why.

Now I realize it's because there's only like 5 songs and one filler on it.

Deliverance is the song that got me into Opeth!

Same here. I liked it so much that I went out and bought Deliverance as my first album.

Amazing album imo, but I find that I dig Still Life and Mayh more these days.

i see what you mean. when we have these silly "favorite album" polls, i find it hard to pick a favorite, because it comes down to overall vs. amount of favorite songs/sections. the two are completely different.
