It was on the discovery channel. I don't think I've ever laughed harder. They make metal look a lot worst than it really is, revealing the retarded fans who are Satanists and join Cults. What a joke.

I saw it. What strikes me as the most absurd is that they must focus on the only TWO stories they can actually dredge up, with an obligatory mention of the early 90's Norwegian shenanigans tossed in for good measure - all the while clearly implying that this is a wide-spread problem, etc.
Given that here in the US, on any given night, the urban streets may be littered with young bodies, snuffed-out in all their imitative hip-hop "gangsta" glory.(just a month or two ago the National Guard was called up in New Orleans in an attempt to control the unchecked blood-letting there - victim and perp alike were often in their teens.)
That, apprently, isn't nearly so sexy as a handful of warped kids knifing someone for nasty 'ol Satan. I thought this silliness went out years ago...but it has risen...again:Smug:

is this the one shown in the UK a while ago, if not it seems kinda similar
although iirc, that one didn't portray the music as violence-inducing but was actually pretty logical about it, saying that because it's so extreme, those likely to do extreme things are drawn to it, rather than suggesting that the music is somehow the *cause*

There was only one positive in that show. When they interviewed the Norwegian kid and he stated that he doesn't believe in the themes of black metal and doesn't take it seriously. His parents seemed very reasonable too, saying that they had to look into the music more before criticizing.

What they really need to do a study/docu. on is the relation of heavy metal to illness, especially brain cancer. Comon guys, Chuck Schuldiner, Chuck Billy, and James Murphy. There has gotta be something related to metal that causes the disease. The head banging?

I saw it and it was annoying how they only focused upon the few incidents of satanic murders etc. They also somehow managed to make Glen Benton seem reasonable.

I saw the one on VH1, and I thought it was pretty cool. Interviews with Dickenson, Mayhem, etc....it gave a look at all the different metal genres. It was nice to just see some real metal on TV.
