Dissapointment...

hahaha sucks for you that you didnt get godheads. opeth was the third headlining band so of course lamb of god and megadouche get more time. but seriously, hearing them play godhead's lament live was worth the $40 alone. simply amazing
the set went as followed:
the ghost of perdition
godheads lament
windowpane
leper affinity
deliverence

yeah, remember the days when we all celebrated even having a band like opeth play a show in the states? in flames, dark tranquillity, opeth...getting them for even one tour in the states was tough, and even then, they'd be the opening band with about 30 minutes alotted to their set.

Three songs on their setlist for their September 16, 2006 Denver giantour cameo appearance. Three fucking songs! I am convinced that Lamb of God or Dave Mustaine were behind this travesty. Three great songs though- Ghosts of pedition Windowpain and Deliverance.

It pains me to say that for the first time ever, I've actually left an Opeth show (ATL-10/05) completely and utterly dissapointed. Don't get me wrong, the music was well performed. But... 5 songs? And not a single track from any album prior to Blackwater Park? You've got to be kidding me. I feel like I just spent 30 bucks to watch a graceful and poetic bow to all of those lamb of god weiners, many of whom probably still believe that Blackwater is Opeth's first album. Oh well...

Hey in Wacken they had an hour set and only played 6 songs!
But hell I'm not complaining.

Ha, the first time I saw Opeth, it was at SOTU 2005. Only had 45 mins to play 4 songs (Drapery Falls, To Rid The Disease, TGC, DOTF), and seriously, it was amazing. I was happy enough just to see them play. And that was with the "metalcore" audience who clearly didn't understand it.

But then I saw them twice again as headliners (including the chronology show in Chicago). Awesome.

Quite honestly if i was at gigantour id be there for megadeth. 5 songs from opeth would just be some sweet SWEET icing on the cake.

hum....I went to Gigantour in San Bernadino and Opeth's set was amazing . It was perhaps the best thing ive ever seen (including Iron Maiden at Ozzfest 2005 at the same venue, the one where Maiden got pelted with eggs lol ) . But then again my tickets cost me 15 bucks . Well worth it , best concert i've ever been to
