Played through it into a Genz Benz combo in the store (on clean/flat of course.)
It kind of sounds like a Randall amp to me more than a Krank, it doesn't have the glassy tube tone of the Krank heads (duh) and it doesn't get very exciting tone in any way. It's definitely better sounding than a Metal Zone or a MXR Dime Distortion, if that's what market they're going for, than good job on them!
I went into the store with the intention of purchasing the pedal, and in the end I didn't. It was underwhelming overall. If you've got a POD XT for recording at all hours, you're better off. If you have a high gain tube amp and a tube screamer pedal for live gigging and re-amping, then you're better off as well. I just don't understand where the Krank pedal fits into my life... maybe if I was younger and only had a shitty practice amp or something, it would be OK.
