I've just been getting into Nevermore and I really love the band, and "This Godless Endeavor" is easily one of the best albums of the year. I have only one problem with the band - the singing. I know Warrel is talented, but I just can't stand his voice. Is there anyone out there who loves Nevermore like me but hates Warrel's singing?

my father hates his vocal, he says that its too dramatic
o_O

Yeah, it's true that Warrel gives Nevermore it's unique sound but when you hear the intro to "The Psalm of Lydia" kick in or "Ambivalent" you expect some crazy ass growling or something.. maybe it's just that i'm not used to it, so the unexpected vocals are weird to me.

well, its your taste :)

I like Warrels voice. And I just discovered the backward messege in Sentient 6(I knew it was there since I first heard it, but just reversed it now). Funny :p

I like his singing. I'll be honest, it took me some time to get used to it, but its unique.

I first heard Nevermore when i got my Playstation 2, Mine came with a copy of "The Hard and the Heavy" some shitty compilation cd, and I remember the only good song on it was "I am the Dog"

Loved his vocals since the moment I first heard them. Then again, Im not a big fan of the growl.

I also am not the bigest fan of the growl. But there are some people that really kick-ass at it.

aha, the voice. his voice, err, singing style in Nevermore was amazing for me the first moment I heard it (just listen to In Memory or PoE, phew!).
though, Sanctuary... now that took some time. yes, I went the other way around cuz in the era of Sanctuary I was listening to death metal.

Pseudo - intellectual lyrics...gapping holes in the guitar work....strange outfits, over the top theatrics...camp falsetto's what do you want!

NP-epica - consign to oblivion
