I think three best and most influential indusrtrial metal groups are:
-NIN
-Ministry
-Skinny Puppy

Other good bands listed in other posts, agree the nordic group Kovenant "animatronic" is good CD, reminds me of prime Marilyn Manson material like "holywood + antichrist superstar" all three of these worth getting.

Also no one mentioned Rammstein, three very good Cds out, German and industrial metal, perfect fit.

This guy isn't really metal but with songs like Destroy Mass Media, which talks about satellites falling into the ocean and fish taking control, you have to like him.
