Doom

Ooft, well two songs are completed. A 3rd is bout half way done i think. We just need to get our heads down and then crack on with recording which wont be a problem. Only problem might be finding a propper drummer... because im shit.

Ok can someone help me on another band. Ok I'm not going to say what I think they are but you guys tell me what they properly are!

Well the band in question is "Swallow The Sun"

Swallow the Sun are doom. If I had to put them in a box they'd be 'melodic death/doom' - but I get tired of putting bands in boxes.

I've been a big My Dying Bride fan for many years now and I've always been a firm believer that there's not really any point listening to other gothic/death/doom bands because non of them are anywhere near as good as My Dying Bride.

Still, try out Paradise Lost, Mourning Beloveth, Anathema, The Prophecy, Mournful Congregation... there might be something you like there. Let me know!

Has anybody heard Shrinebuilder yet? I finally got their album and im loving it!

www.myspace.com/shrinebuildergroup

It's a doom supergroup, and its one of the few supergroups that has worked. Check out the line-up!

* Scott "Wino" Weinrich: Guitar/Vocals - The Hidden Hand, Spirit Caravan, Saint Vitus, The Obsessed
* Al Cisneros: Bass/Vocals - Om, Sleep, Asbestosdeath
* Scott Kelly: Guitar/Vocals - Neurosis, Tribes of Neurot, Blood and Time
* Dale Crover: Drums - Melvins, Altamont, The Men of Porn, Nirvana

Neurosis, St Vitus, Sleep and Melvins... You couldn't ask for anymorer. And seeing as Scott Kelly is my favourite musician this is a winner. Seriously try this one out. The mix of Scott and Wino on vocals is the best!

Check the BBC review out!

I hope they tour the UK because its too good for just a one off USA tour.

Yeah man, they're pretty good, from what I've heard. They're playing a show in London, but yeah, just London. SURPRISE!

Good review from the BBC too.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Trouble. They are one of the pioneers of doom. check out The Skull album, or self titled.
this is metal fuck

Sorry not checked any of them out yet but I will do.

You know with MDB have you heard this song?

I find it so amazing and sounds like something I have heard before in a film.

Anyways, you might have heard it before... It's a cover of a song by Portishead.
