There wasn't an option for my situation so I'll just post it here.
I do have a license and my wife and I own 2 cars. Nothing flash.
One is a 1996 EF II Falcon Futura Wagon and the other a 1978 Datsun 200 b (with less than 55,000 km on the clock!!!).
I also have a company vehicle, but of course I dont own that one.
We dont have any major debt at the moment and having the company vehicle helps to save money each week because it comes with a fuel card.
I also dont own anywhere near as much gear as most of the guys on this forum but I'm happy with the things I have, for now

:D Congrats, dude! Very nice looking car.
Thanks! I love it. :)
Haha no, it's just the new vw polo (not golf!). And the cheapest version
But it looks and feels great, the only shitty thing is the engine. 75 hp isn't too much. The new polo gti will be available soon and it sure will be amazing, but i'll never have so much money..
I gotta admit that i couldn't have paid for the car all by myself, my parents and grandparents helped me out.. i have to drive to work 50km a day, so i can't go by bus and there is no train.
Otherwise i would have spent the money in gear

I did the predictable thing here and spent all my learning to drive money on gear...

I think I voted wrong, woops.
Learner's permit, no car. Fucking being poor, gah (and then you might ask why I'm on the computer with a high speed broadband connection have some fairly good guitars listed in my signature:lol:)

Got a license (since I was 18) and got a car (Audi 80 B4 Sports Edition - basically a S2 but with 4 doors instead of being a coupe). Been driving a Ford Escort before that, until corrosion seperated us. Technically, my first car was an Opel Kadett, but I only had that one for a day.

I like my car a lot but I wouldn't mind not having to entertain one. I have to commute a lot between two apartments and my workplace (and our rehearsel space too) and if I'd only be relying on public transportation, I'd be fucked until no good.

So yeah, that's my ride (just imagine it would have 4 doors and a slightly different rear spoiler):

Have license and car since 18 (I'm 21 now),

Have been driving one like this one

But in some months I'll change it, now I work like 20-30 minutes away from home and I have to take a fucked up mountain road twice a day...so I may change the car soon.

Nothing fancy - but that's her (cars are always females - they need lots of care and loving).

Just got my license like 3-4 months ago, had to wait due to my broken elbow, don't own a car, but my girlfriend does.
But we almost never use it, you can do almost everything by train here, so no problem for me.

Only if you get a High-Maintenance Bitch (ie. no research done ) :)

I've had a permanent licence for 5 years (in Finland, you must hold a temporary licence for a year before you can get a permanent), and driving my mother's car  Keeping a car is just too expensive in Finland for a student - 200 euros per year for the mandatory insurance, ~200 euros monthly payment for the average new car, plus fuel (1 gallon = 5 euros = 7,5 USD) :erk:

So, just to have a car, you have to pay 2600 euros (3900 USD) a year, and that's before any fuel costs!

With fuel costs: say, you drive about 15000 km (9322 miles) a year and the car consumes on average 7 liters / 100 km, the fuel costs will be 1365 euros (2050 USD) a year :P

200 Euros insurance for a year? Are you serious?

That's like... nothing. I pay 78-something Euros a month. And I'm already pretty low on insurance, I used to pay about 120 Euros a month when I started.
