Goes to show the cultural differences - here in America, unless you live in a big city (with a lot of public trans.) you're pretty much considered the ultimate slacker if you don't have your license by 18! And my whip:

Got a license (since I was 18) and got a car (Audi 80 B4 Sports Edition - basically a S2 but with 4 doors instead of being a coupe).
Damn, nice car mate! Is it the 2.2 Turbo quattro? If it's i'm very jealous:)

I've got the licence and a very cheap old Toyota Corolla, but i keep it in a good shape. I bought it for ~450 EUR:) I'm not a daily driver, but somewhere i can only go with car because the public transport sux:)

I don't have a pic of mine but thats the same, w00t. Yeah, in the US you are slackin if you don't have a DL and/or car by the time you can get one haha. My friend got his license at 23 and we gave him shit for it almost every time we saw since he was 18.

Got license since 1994.

I've had:

Golf GTI 1.6 (1980 original version)
Citroen ZX TD (not really mine)
Ford Escort
Ford Focus TDCI

Now I've got a VW GOLF V, TDI 140 CV Sport.

But I don't have my own studio nor loads of amps and guitars.

Need car for my salesman job...

Almost a dead-on match for mine...

You can fit a drumset AND a 4X12 in it if you're careful. It's also good for shuttling around clients who don't drive. Doubles as a portable mix room.

Yeah, it is! Got it in great condition with relatively low mileage for dirt cheap. They guy I bought it off works for Audi and he even went on to become my private go-to mechanic so to say. I was quite lucky... I have been offered more than twice the money I paid for it, but I'm not parting with it. If I have to have a car, it might as well be a nice one. ;)

Edit: I totally forgot that I recorded my car once!

So if anyones needs some Audi samples, just go here: http://drop.io/slashvanyoung/asset/audi-mp3.

I'm 20 and I've had my license since I was 17.

I've only had this car since May. My last car was written off in an 80mph crash on a motorway near London - cut up by a white van ;)

I've got a license and I'm sharing a car. I am however in the market for one of these:

Or maybe a Toyota Tacoma, something akin to it's class.

200 Euros insurance for a year? Are you serious?

That's like... nothing. I pay 78-something Euros a month. And I'm already pretty low on insurance, I used to pay about 120 Euros a month when I started.

It's the bare minimum that practically covers nothing. Of course you have to get a "real" insurance in reality. One that will cover crashes, theft, and whatever. They cost much more.

Fuck yeah. :kickass:

;) It's like three times louder when he's warmed up haha.

Yeah yeah, I'm really only talking liability insurance here, the bare minimum that will only cover the damage you've caused yourself. I'm paying roughly a thousand bucks for that a year (as I said, used to be even more) and it doesn't cover anything that happens to my car.

So 200 bucks, that sounds like heaven. But then again, considering the Scandinavian booze prices... I guess things even out. ;)

Where do you get insurance that cheap?? :zombie: Mine is around 500€/yr (without those bonuses), and it's on the cheaper side as far as I know. '90 VW Golf 1.6 is what I drive.

Also, you forgot the "temporary" tax, which in my case is about 100€/yr.

I've had a license for about 6 months now.

Here's what I drive, even the exact same color:

   , but I guess you gotta start from somewhere.

I have had a licence for 4 years (I am now 26).

This is my first car (I mean that is 100% mine), which I have been driving since the beginning of this year. Since then I have crashed it one time (dire road conditions in the mountains), fixed it and am now still driving it. It's a 1991 Peugeot 309, 1.4 gasoline engine. This is a picture after I fixed it (after the crash - it now has the "pre-facelift" grill):

I really appreciate the 309, even though it is 18 years old, it rides pretty well and maintenance costs are very low (parts and service are cheap on it - it has almost zero of the complex electronics plaguing the newer cars).

After the crash, my girlfriend and I started thinking about something more contemporary, so we got a Peugeot 406 - ours looks absolutely the same as this one:

The 406 features the 1.8 16V gasoline engine - it is a little clumsy for this car, but otherwise it is a very comfy ride.

So yeah, that's pretty much it. I also have a bike.
