DT coming to Australia

hey all u sydney-ers what time u guys rekon of goin? coz im going to fear factory the previous night and contemplating of whether to go home and rest or just go from the big top to the manning bar..?

They better Play I, Deception & Fabric!!!! What have been the latest setlists in Europe n shit? Im guessing it'll be the same as the dvd in a sense, except, less off Projector, Gallery, Minds Eye etc....and they'll probably do 5 or 6 off Character a few off Damage done, couple off Haven, and one off Projector, Minds I & Gallery, or 2, thats my assumption, then again i'm probably wrong. a 2 hour set list would be nice, my neck is going to snap off this gig, and my voice will be no more haha, i'll be screaming out for them to play Haven constantly.

Who's supporting? Earth would be a good support. Good Aussie (fairly melodic) death metal.

Mum ordered my 5 tickets from moshtix while I was at school. :D

Apparentely I've gotta get my tickets from some machine while I'm down there....? Would so prefer they just sent them to my house, but shit, atleast I know for sure I can't miss out now.

Also, I'm one of the two 18 year olds in my group that's going... we're gonna have to buy booze for everyone. :p

(I'll be at the Sydney gig btw, is the Manning Bar any good?)
Did your mum order them off the Moshtix web site with her credit card? If so you will need to take your mum, and her credit card to the gig. Your five tickets will be in the magnetic strip on the credit card. You swipe it at the door to get in. Or there is this other long and completed process. You can usually work out how long you need to queue for a band by:
A. How well known the band is.
B. How big the venue is.
C. How fast the floor tickets sold. (seating tickets are irrelevant)

Big bands at big venues mean queue early. For example:
A well known band like Nine Inch Nails playing at Rod Laver arena (big venue), with floor tickets selling out on the first day. This gig would require an early morning start. Between about 6am and 10am to get a good spot up front.

Big bands at small-ish venues mean queue earlier. For example:
If we change that to Nine Inch Nails playing at Hordern Pavilion (medium venue), with floor tickets selling out in a few hours. This gig would require a very early morning start. Between about 3am and 8am to get a good spot up front.

Small bands at small venues mean queue late. For example:
A small band like In Flames playing at Manning Bar (very small venue), with tickets still being for sale on the night. This gig would require a late start. Between about 3pm and 4pm to get a good spot up front.

Also:
Local bands require less queuing than international bands.
Over 18’s gigs require less queuing that all ages gigs.
Melbourne gigs require less queuing than Sydney gigs.

Note:
This is all based on my experience and is in no way conclusive. Please don’t flame me for it if you disagree.

So, based on that. Dark Tranquillity being not particularly well known here, having a similar fan base to In Flames and playing at a very small venue. Queue from about 3pm or later.

If you went to Manning Bar straight from Fear Factory, you would probably get there about 1am. That’s way to early. Go home and sleep in.

actually i queued for metallica at the brisbane entertainment centre from 3pm, got on the front front barriers.
inflames got there at 7pm to queue, doors opened just after 8pm at the manning bar sydney, could of easily gotten to the front if i wanted to.
im guessing tho cos of dark tranquillity not being so well known in Oz (as far as im aware), queuing probably wont be too much of a hassle, esp for sydney and melbourne where they are playing in semi decent size venues (esp manning bar in sydney, no idea about the hifi bar in melb). however in brisbane, they are playing in a very small venue :(
so i plan on getting there early (6pm or so).

With any luck i'll get work off the day of the gig and the day after the gig! I'll be there drinking waiting for dark tranq. with my mates around 1pm hahaha ahhh long drinking session before a gig, im gonna die that night, i know it hah

Yeah, and she rang em up after ordering, and I CAN get the tickets myself. We just need to print off some crap, as well as show them my ID when I'm down there. So all is good.

Can't fucking wait!!!!:kickass:

EDIT: Whaat! You got a poster!? :( Bastard.

yeah man there's one on ebay at the moment (no its not mine), i know the shop thats selling it, its next to Richmond station, or if you're in melb missing link probably sell them as thats who gave me mine, probably only $10, and i'd be pretty sure they'll sell them at the gig, a lot of bands do that these days.
