so, i've heard it called eastern metal, right?

who do you think is the best at it and who would you call the pioneers?

where can i learn avout these bands on the web?

see, i'm all about folk music from around the world and i'm all into metal. i'd like to learn about the two together.

hook me up with some sites where i can learn, please. my google searches keep coming up shit. help a honky out.

:]

have you heard Cruachan? http://www.cruachan.cjb.net/ they are an irish version of what i mean.

also, i've found a song called Atman from Rudra which has it.

anything which uses traditional instruments, i would like even more. one of those coconut violins, for example.

thanks for responding. :]

Netherealm seems interesting. Do you know where I can sample and/or buy a cd?

So, I guess that some "eastern metal" bands use eastern melodies, but some don't? would you consider it similar to the black/viking metal genre?

i really like eastern melodies.
