(Both clips are in the same file)

Sorry for the lame ass scorpions style riff.
One is my LTD MH-400 w/emg81
One is my cheap WSL baritone w/Kent Armstrong Motherbucker (passive)

Both guitars are made of a mahogany body and a mapple neck.
One is a baritone, the other is not. (this could have an big influence on the tone especially since the strings sickness isn't the same on both guitars)
Both pickups have about the same output level.

I don't want to spend an hour mounting in wiring an emg anew pot and a new jack input into my baritone to finally find out that I prefered the original pickup.

I liked the second better, slightly more cutting.

But would be better to hear em in a mix.

I'm also leaning towards two all by its lonesome, however I might change my mind when heard in a proper mix as for some reason I think number one might sit better when combined with bass and drums.

Sorry, no mix at the moment. I suck donkey balls as a player.
Keep posting your thoughts, It's really helping actually.

Are the clips ordered (81 then MB, as title and description says) or is a blind comparison?
The second has a more "passive" feel on palm-muting, so it makes me think it's the MB...

I prefer the 2nd too...

It was supposed to be a blind test so people won't have a favorable bias for the emg. But you got that right.

Thanks to the four good mates who voted (plus Jind who was undecided)...
100+ views... :rolleyes::lol: Holy shit.

I think I am going to stick with the Motherbucker for a while.
