EMPEROR have announced the following U.S. dates in July 2006 Body: Reunited Norwegian black metal legends EMPEROR have announced the following U.S. dates in July 2006:

Jul. 14 - BB Kings Blues Club - New York, NY
Jul. 16 - Key Club - Los Angeles, CA

As previously reported, EMPEROR reunited after four years to play a surprise three-song set at Scream's 15-year anniversary party at Oslo, Norway's Rockefeller on Sept. 30, 2005. The illustrious black metal band, whose split in 2001 took the scene by surprise, performed three tracks — "The Loss And Curse Of Reverence", "I Am The Black Wizards", "Inno A Satana" — and received a rapturous welcome by an ecstatic crowd. Check out photos of the performance at this location (all photos were taken by EMPEROR guitarist Samoth's wife Erin). Guitarist Samoth told producer Patrizia Mazzuoccolo of the Norwegian metal radio show "Tinitus" that the performance was "a short teaser that we are using to announce full headline shows we are doing next year. This is a cooler way of announcing them instead of telling people through our web site." EMPEROR will also headline the Inferno festival (April 13-15, 2006) in Oslo, Norway and Wacken Open Air (August 3-5, 2006) in Wacken, Germany next year

I'll be at the NY show, I'm only a couple hours away so it won't be a problem.

It'd be cool if they had a bigger tour for the other fans, but since the dates are so close, I get the feeling that this is it.

I'm going to try and buy as much tickets as they allow for the NYC show as soon as they go on sale, I reckon it well sell out quick. Luckily it's on a Friday and NYC is 3 hours away max depending on traffic conditions.

I'll probably just take the train into the city. I don't think I want to drive there. I'm in CT pretty close to NYC, but given traffic conditions, I can't really say that I expect to get there in just an hour or anything.
