I´ve found out that Emperor´s old drummer killed a guy and one of the other band members set fire to a church is this true?

If it is I don´t get why Opeth thanks them on their Morningrise album. And don´t understand how ppl can justify buying records from them thus endorsing murder and church fires?

I can`t always do a backgroundcheck to see if the bandmembers have done anything illegal. I like the music. I can`t help if they have killed someone.

I don`t stop buying Dissections albums or suddenly disslike their music just because i get told that Jon was involved in a murder.

If Martin Lopez would kill someone, would you stop listening to Opeth?
Would you stop buying their albums?

I don`t have a problem with Opeth thanking Emperor becasue they think their music is good. I do think (and i do belive Opeth share my opinion) that someone that made a crime should be behind bars.

and beside the fact that i would never set a church on fire, i can understand it completely, but this subject has been dealt with very extensively in another thread about satanic music and how christians can listen to it ...

Doesn't mean i condone what they did, I personally wouldn't do such a thing but i also love the music they make. Millions like (me included) the music Michael Jackson made, and he's done a lot of dodgy stuff in his time. Stopping listening to music just because you don't agree with the person's actions is a bit dumb imo. It's up to you though i guess.

For me Jason Mendonca said something along these lines that is pretty much how i feel:
"The NSBM has some great bands involved in the scene, but as a philosophy - just grow up!"

buying a band's albums by no means endorses the personal life decisions that the members make. same way i by no means endorse the brainless fans of Opeth that ask these retarded questions in the first place, by buying Opeths albums.

and if you disagree, i surely surely hope you only wear clothes made of hemp. eat purely organic foods, are a member of the peace corp. and havent had pre-marital sex or any other immoral deed. if not, then you should be run over by a flaming bus full of geriatrics.

I think Morningrise may have been made before the killing/church burning.

But as said, they basically owe to Samoth the fact that they got signed.
