Emperor

Look I don´t know why he murdered that guy and I´ve found out Faust didn´t know either, apparently the guy just looked at him the wrong or something and he decided to kill him. And Faust apparently doesn´t regret anything so fuck him.

And if you say numerous murders and church burnings by members of these early black metal bands had nothing to with their lifestyle then I seriously think u are the retarded one. wouldn´t u agree?

And yes to some extend I do think that these sick things worked building up their image as a lot of the old black metal fans especially from norway thought these things where cool.

Please, shut up. Thanks.

These people weren't even 20 when this stuff happened. It's been 10-15 years since all of this happened, why is it magically not possible for them to grow out of it?

I guess I support a murderer and alleged church burner because I support some of Varg's views on today's world. I guess I support a murderer and alleged church burner because I enjoy Varg's music.

As for their "image," I'm pretty sure most of them did it because they don't like organized Christianity, or Christianity at all for that matter. Not for their "image."

Don't believe everything you read in a book or in propaganda-based newspaper articles.

most of the Norwegian BM bands were just kids at the time too, not that being under age should justify Murder or Arson, but i'm sure they think differently now. Anyhow Emperor's material is too good to be ignored.

How does buying an album endorse murder or arson? It's not like these things cost money, and that money came from album sales. Not at all.

Good point. But i'm wondering if anyone here thinks buying clothes from Nike supports child labor? Supplying money to the company allows it to continue exploiting children, even though you're not intending to support it yourself if you buy the clothers because you like the way they look. In the same way you're not intending to support Burzum's ideology by buying it for the music, but I could see an argument that giving money to such a political band encourages its activities. But saying that giving money to a band supports acts which are totally unmotivated by profits is quite ridiculous.

IF YOU BUY MARIJUANA, YOU SUPPORT TERRORISTS! I'm right, and that's the end of it!

Well, not really. (HYPOTHETICAL) If I smoked weed (HYPOTHETICAL), I'd probably buy it from my mate who lives 2 minutes down the road.. who isn't a terrorist.. btw, since when have terrorists been specifically afffiliated with drugs?

If I remember correctly, they didn't actually listen to death metal, they just listened to heavy metal and other shit like Slipknot.

I have a HUGE feeling I will turn that program off before it finishes, but I will give it a go... If I can be bothered to turn on the TV.

"...satanic death metal band Slayer..."
If thats the music they want to ban for being satanic, go for it! I support the banning of Slayer and Metallica. Damn satanists.

"DISSECTION ON BBC TWO'S "THIS WORLD"
17-11-2005

Dissection will participate in a one hour TV-documentary called "Death Metal Murders", which is a part of BBC Two's acclaimed series This World. This World is BBC television's international current affairs programme which counts two million regular viewers in Britain.

"The programme looks at controversies surrounding extreme metal music around the world - from satanic sects in Italy to church burnings in Norway and asks about the attractions of extreme music. Dissection are included as an example of people who take the satanism seriously, as opposed to the kids who just like the trappings", describes a BBC spokesman.

Earlier this year Dissection were interviewed and filmed by BBC television at the Italian metal festival Tradate Iron Fest. Topics featured in the interview are Dissection's satanic concept and beliefs.

The programme will be premiering on BBC Two, Thursday November 24, 2005 at 9pm UK time and might later be broadcasted world-wide since This World occasionally is shown on BBC World.

Already broadcasted This World films are available on DVD. This World can also be viewed online on the
This World website"

The only other thing like this I've seen on TV was a thing on Channel 5, but I missed most of that, and some season on witches on Channel 4 and there was some teenage girls who liked popular modern metal... :erk:

Hopefully the Beeb will give a more serious look at this stuff, but its doubtful since they mentioned Slayer and DM in the same line...

Hopefully there will be more of the bands talking and less of the useless drivel from "serious heavy music journalists" (ie the editor of Kerrang!) :tickled: like similar programs.

Oh yeah, and come to think of it, the BBC did "Living With The Enemy", and Channel 4 did something else metal-related too... or ish...

I think it was "Faking It", but I might be wrong, and it had Spineshank or whatever they are called on it... thats about the amount of airtime metal has had on our screens in the last decade!
