Dan Swano's stuff is very triumphant. It's got that cliched 80's vibe about it. The two Crimson albums plus his Moontower release are great 'epic' metal albums.

but you forgot She Painted Fire Across the Skyline
that song is comparable to Black Rose Immortal.

Epicness and lenght do not always go hand in hand, though. Shame I couldn't be fucked thinking past pressing the 'length' tab on Windows Media Player to really make a real post, but there sure are some shorter songs which are still epic. Not that I'm going to give any examples..

Dopesmoker's sleep is 62 minutes I think, but It's repetitive and boring.

If you notice, Dream Theater's Scenes From A Memory is not only a concept album, but all the songs tie together aurally.
