Essential albums.

two personal old school faves of mine ...

Wargasm - Why Play Around?
killer riffing and just insane thrash ... these guys knew how to drill a riff in your head. total headbanging stuff :kickass:

It defines the words "underrated because unknown".

Strapping Young Lad - City

How does this differ from "...and the Circus Leaves Town"? I'm listening to (ironically) "One Inch Man" as I type this, and I just don't see the appeal. Kind of a muddy production and the singer's voice doesn't do much for me. Music is decent, but as I said, it's kind of hurt by the production, which sort of sounds like I'm listening to it with my finers in my ears.

Well, personally I think "Sky Valley" is about 32526327x better than Circus. It's a lot heavier, and it has a better groove to it... also the riffs are a lot less "experimental". Sky Valley is like one huge song that just rocks your fucking socks off.

I hardly like And the circus leaves town, at all.

in fact I listened to that album around when it came out, and I said the same thing "what's the big deal??"

then numerous years later I heard Sky Valley, and THEN I know what all the talk was about.

I still don't particularly enjoy Circus that much.

Yeah, to be totally honest I am not feeling that much love towards this album.

But back to Sky Valley- holy shit, that's all I have to say. Slowly becoming one of my favorite albums of all time. Plus, I got my fucking shirt today- awesome!

Right on! In addition, the linear notes instruct you to listen to it WITHOUT distraction, and I highly reccomend this. If you just sit back with an awesome audio system and let the album absorb you... it's simply a totally fantastic experience.

Worlds apart. I dig on Circus the most because, well, it moves my balls with a fury that nothing else can surpass. Well, a lot can, but not as far as desert rock goes (except perhaps the latest Queens album). Sky Valley has longer songs, and is much more of a capital-A Album if you will. A much better album overall, but Circus hits me in the personal zone moreso I guess, even if Sky Valley was my first Kyuss experience.

But the production is still muddy, just how it should be. :)
