Essential albums.

haha, I don't own any of those listed either. All my Sabbaths were stolen from my car and I never replaced them, but I did own the BS s/t along with the Ozzy era albums. You know the real Sabbath records.

I want the early Bathory records, though.

Don't really care about the other stuff.

You can check out some songs of those you haven't heard on my website. If you're not into unique vocalists, then most of those bands I listed probably won't be your cup of tea.

On my site, try the MANILLA ROAD song and the PAGAN ALTAR song....

QUEEN - A Night At The Opera
SLAYER - Show No Mercy

:tickled: Queen so totally owns. Freddie Mercury was just a complete pimp of a vocalist.

Also, that Slayer is possibly their best album.

I need to check out a lot of stuff on that list and beyond as I'd like to hear more 70s/80s music, especially more rock 'n roll oriented stuff.

I can't believe I'm the only asshole that has mentioned the fucking Beatles.

YOU KNOW, THE WHOLE FUCKING REASON ANY OF US LISTEN TO THE MUSIC THAT WE DO.

Oh and before someone gets smart saying "oh blah blah blah Nile wasn't influenced by The Beatles queer" STFU.

Rock and roll as we know it

WOULD NOT FUCKING EXIST

without them.

PERIOD.

[J] I fucking hate the Beatles with a passion. Their music is one of the greatest puke creators ever. I dont care if Ozzy loved em, i know that heavy music would be kinda the same without them though. Just listen to Hendrix, Blue Cheer and so many other 60s/70s bands that didnt worshiped The Beatles that much[/J]

I really hate The Beatles, there were SO MANY BETTER bands in the 60s, everyone is all about "the beatles made everything" yea ok .. im gonna start to listen just to music from the prehistoric age, just because it made everything.

The funny thing is that ok "beatles inspired all heavy music" and then WHAT? DO they have any similar point in the sound/feeling of all that is heavy? NO they dont. Its a lot different from the "you cant listen to heavy music, without worshiping Sabbath" thing, for example. The Beatles were more pop oriented than rock oriented, and their feeling was closer to POP rather than all that the essence of ROCK includes.
Maybe i wouldnt hate them that much if everyone was not saying "they are the best band ever" just to be politically correct. But then again i hate their music too, soo im ok.

That SLAYER and Reign In Blood switch back and forth between my fav SLAYER album.

You might want to try the first two MANILLA ROAD albums. They're more space rock/heavy rock/prog/metal albums. They are released together (officially) as a double CD.

Also, a lot of NWOBHM can be argued as more rock n roll than heavy metal. That sounds like a perfect genre for you to investigate if you're trying to find that particular sound.

True facts in that post there are. Beatles worship is so fucking hyped up + rediculous, when SO MANY MORE bands where the true bassis of heavy metal. There is absolutly no traces of heavy music in any of the beatles catelague (probobly a gross overstatement, but fuck it).

Hendrix on the other hand...
