An incredible amount of singers wish they could touch some of Ozzy's vocal perforances in B.S.
Name one.

I think you're confusing personal taste and technical ability. If you like Ozzy, that's cool. However, I've heard all of Sabbath's stuff, and I've never heard anything from Ozzy, that any decent vocalist couldn't handle. By his own admission, he can't sing.

All? No, you havent heard "Planet Caravan", "Solitude" or "Megalomania" (i can name others here too, but take 3 for a start)

ozzy just has a very unique voice ... which is more pleasing to these ears than some cookie cutter great range singer.

Copy his style or hit the notes he hits?

Both, try to sing the way he sang .. in all aspects

Restate what? i just mentioned 3 B.S. songs that have some of Ozzy's greatest performances, that i think you havend heard (at least carefully - this went to the "i've heard all sabbath with ozzy" thing you said)

by his own admission, ozzy got the gig as singer for BS because he owned his own p.a. system. he's a great singer for his emotion, feeling, and unique voice, not flawless technique.

The fact that his style is unique, doesn't make him a good singer. I'm sure Bruce Dickinson can't sing like Dani Filth. But that doesn't make Dani a good singer.

I'll go back and listen to those songs again.

"unique" + delivers a great deal of emotion. Anyway if you dont want, dont call him "a good singer", he still rules by default

I think Ozzy's best performance was on Sabatoge IMO.

He's not techinally better than people like Halford, but he's got that sinister edge to him that people love.

Agreed, regardless of what I said earlier, Megalomania is one of my favorite vocal performances by anyone, oh for the days when Ozzy actually sounded genuinely mad. It's also in my top 50 songs of all time, best cowbell ever (tied with Pigs-Three Different Ones) to boot.
<<Maybe i wouldnt hate them that much if everyone was not saying "they are the best band ever" just to be politically correct. But then again i hate their music too, soo im ok.>>
Agreed, massively overrated for sure, historical significance aside, but I hate that sort of blind devotion a lot more than their music.
