Euro Cup 2008

Yep, not bad. I've said Russia are a good side since the beginning of the tournament, they've finally grown into it in the past few games.

It's great to see a good game on both ends like this. Great goaltending as well.

Damn Russia... I must say, they definitely deserve the lead right now. They're playing great offensively.

Yep, but you don't win tournaments based on how good you play in the group stages. Holland were outclassed tonight, and with extra time just watch them win it.

They don't deserve to win this game, based on the 90 minutes. Only Van Der Saar and Sneijder have been any good.

Holland definitely has a great come-back strategy going... We saw them play like this early in the group games, where they just explode.

Russia has had Holland beat in their pitch the whole game, Their defense has been sloppy, with some great goaltending. Holland's offense in the first 90 minutes was pretty weak, holding back a lot.

Statistically speaking, Holland seems to have a strong hold, but from watching the game I definitely didn't see it.

I think they've done nothing. They won a free kick and Sneijder put in a good delivery. Russia have trouble defending set pieces, and Holland scored. I don't think they could have scored in open play.

edit: The referee reversed his yellow card decision based on what his assistant saw. It was brilliant and ballsy refereeing.

derek: yea, i see after the replay. the moderator on german tv insists that it was yellow-red worthy. i disagree.
i think btw, the turks were worse yesterday than the dutchies today and still won ...

Turkey were way worse than Holland, for sure! It was unfair they won, based on that game alone, and it would be the same for me if Holland won today.

The commentator is wrong, it was a good decision by the referee.

i dont think the dutchies are that bad in this game. compared to the prior matches they are ok. but they were stellar then. they are still not playing very bad. russia has been better this match but not by a mile

edit: what do you call the framework of the goal btw?
