now srsly: has anyone who is pissing slipknot in this thread actually seen one of their live shows? it's not that their music ain't that good compared to others that the show sucks, you know.

I've seen slipknot twice, and they really delivered! My opinion, and "Jump the fuck up" is Epic!

First of all, it's not confirmed officially yet but its pretty much 'confirmed' you know
That being said, I think it's great. CoB will have a great opportunity on this tour, they'll have a blast, play crazy venue and be exposed to more fans. This is amazing really, not just the guys in the band, but their crew too, don't forget they are a big part of the band. Think about it. I think Slipknot will be headlining, then Machinehead then Bodom. The tiers are set by record sales usually, and Machinehead have sold far more albums to my knowledge, I mean they're waaaaay bigger here, everyone knows them. I'm not a big fan but hey, who cares.
If it upsets any of you, then guess what... DON'T GO! It's simple. Bodom will be back to headline probably in about a year so jsut wait until then. IMO Slipknot isn't even that bad of a band. I used to like them, and if they were playing here with Bodom I'd go see them.
In USA maybe, but in Europe who sells more (between MH and COB, Slipcock pwns both single handedly in sales)? Because if I'm correct this tour is for Europe, and in America they are having the Gigantour. Anyway, even if it's just for COB I'm going.
I'd go to see CoB. But I'd show up after Slapknut was finished.

I dislike Slipknot and all my friends love them a very painful part of my life indeed. It was a troubling time. The only good thing Slipknot's music has done for me was be the music for a porn video. And they should stick to do what they do best (The music in facial compilations)!

Although they are nu-metal, I don't mind them. I personally have never heard anyone call them death metal. True, a lot of their material is death related, but the tempo and timbre of the music does not suit death metal.
Their music is good for moshing around the room like an idiot, and it is perfect for psyching me up for swinging my sword around or getting ready before martial arts.
While I agree that their music is not diverse or technically impressive, it is still good music. It doesn't need to be diverse or any of that, because it serves it's purpose of being thick, heavy and loud. (Much like the members of the band.)
I listen to Slipknot because they scream, swear, and have simple, headbangable music. I don't look to them for technical brilliance.
As for the aforementioned 14-year-old skate-kiddies, stop listening to Slipknot soley for the fact that they wear masks and because you like them, you think you are a rebel.
The most controversial thing that has happened to that band are drugs, alcohol, an almost suicide attempt, and one of the members taking a dump in the corner during an interview.
For a metal band, that's nothing.
Just don't go calling me one of those 14-year-old kids. True, my life isn't perfect, and true, I am angry almost the entire time, but I am actually, actively doing something to improve my life; an A+ average and an entry form into a Defence Force university.
And I am older than 14. And against skating.
A lot of people hate Slipknot and nu-metal in general, but i'm not a nu-metal neo-nazi like most people are. They have a very talented singer when he is not screaming and their drummer is awesome.

No truer words could be spoken. Sure I play lots of core bands that I personally don't like on the radio, but I play them because someone out there does like whatever band I'm playing. It's time to be open minded...

But deathcore is a major faggotry... And Slipknot has more talent than JFAG.
And most core is very bad. The only decent core bands out there is LoG... Mind is going blank now.

I believe their a mix of death/metalcore, but still a pretty good band. As I lay dying is also a mix of death/core.
There are only a few "core" bands I like. Bands like trivium, a7x, annd other ruin that genre.
