That´s what I belive too. And a week or two ago I saw a documentary about The Saudi-family and how they walk on a razors edge to keep the imams happy and still have support from the west.

That's exactly the position the Royals are in. They placate the holy rollers, while simaltaneously embracinng all things Western. As a sidenote, has anyone noticed that America agreed to remove ALL of it's military forces from Saudi Arabia? This was a KEY objective to al Qaeda - the removal of all infidel forces from the Holy penninsula. Misson accomplised. Of course, I'm sure that the Royal family demanded this of the US....with the invasion of Iraq, we'd have another place to relocate them to.
That's why anyone who thinks we'll ever fully withdraw from Iraq is blind.

by the way, it has been predicted that in the next 10years the price of oil will go up to $150/barrel, because of China. The economy around the world is starting to shift because of China, the price of metal is rising very fast because of them and that is due to the fact that no limits have been set for them while everyone else has to stop to a certain line. If no one puts some regulations over China alot of countries are gona find themselves in deeper problems than they already are in.

However, yet again, I'm forced to remind you that they were a major factor in the Rev War. American *may* have enentually dragged out the conflict long enough to force a settlement, but without a superior navy, it was unlikely. That's what the French did for us....supplied a Navy.

You say that the world is a "what have you done for me lately" world. Perhaps it is. But, that doesn't magically erase the deeds of the past.

Yeah, the chinese buys everything in steel that we can sell to them. Mining companies and the steel industry are putting all eggs in one basket. I´d like to know what they have planned if the chinese economy backlashed.

Of course they demanded it, they want to stay in power, and we obeyed because we need them, as much as the Royals need us. And we need all the allies we can get in the middle east, not many arab nations tolerate our presence due to our one-sided middle eastern foreign policy that favors Israel. I was there in the late 90's right before all the shit started going sour...

I stayed in Khobar towers,,,right where the main one blew up...i can still see the pictures of the complete nakedness of the security every time i think about it.
